Medication Refills

Our patients now have many ways to request medication refills - call your pharmacy, call the office, or request from the portal.  Please keep in mind that we ask for 48 hours notice to refill prescriptions as we need time to review each child's chart and make sure we are refilling the right medication to the right pharmacy at the right time.  Please do not call after hours for routine medication requests such as ADHD medications.

Flu Vaccines Available

Getting an annual flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations. You can call us at 859-341-5400 or use the Patient Portal to schedule a flu shot.

More Info about the 2017-2018 flu season can be found at the CDC.

Change is Good!

You may notice that we are taking a break from handing out the Healthy Habits survey at well visits. We believe that nutrition and activity are critical pieces of health and wellness, and we will be freshening up the ways we discuss these important topics. As always, be sure to share your nutrition and activity questions and concerns with us!

Medicaid Waiver Changes

The state of Kentucky is changing it's Medicaid Waiver system. There will be an informational meeting open to the public On October 21.

On Wednesday October 18 there are focus groups sessions for Medicaid providers and patients and their caregivers.  Here is a flyer with information and more details can be found here .

Practice News

New Website and App!

On September 1 we launched our new and improved website.  Everything is accessible from the main home page, including quick links about illnesses, practice updates, parenting, development, vaccines and so much more!

Now that we updated our website we have an app to go with it!  This allows quick access to key elements of the website including lots of our helpful links and handouts, including access to the new portal. If you have previously downloaded our app you need to delete it and re-install it. Instructions can be found here.

New Patient Portal

We are excited to bring you our patient portal from Office Practicum, our electronic health record. The portal will allow you to view your child's drug allergies, medications, growth charts, vaccines (including a forecast of upcoming shots), pay your bill, request a well visit (check-up) and even schedule a flu vaccine appointment!  We will also send some forms and documents to the portal for your convenience.

If You Have a Deductible Plan Please Note This Change

The steady increase of deductible health plans have caused us to change what we collect at each visit.  Starting November 1, 2017, we will collect $70 at each visit (excluding well exams) as a down payment towards your deductible.  Once your insurance company recognizes that your deductible is met we will not require this down payment.  After insurance responds to your claim, the remaining balance will be due.

Thank you for your understanding and allowing us to continue to be part of the healthcare of your child(ren).

New Relationship with Children's Hospital

The growth of Hospital Medicine as a specialty at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital has caused us to reevaluate the most effective way for us to serve our patients both in and out of the hospital. Starting on October 16, 2017, our patients admitted to the General Pediatric Service will be followed by the Children’s Hospital Medicine service. As one of the very last practices to follow general pediatric patients at Children’s and as a practice that has always had many patients admitted to other services there, we expect very little change for our patients in the care they receive. And as always, we will be in close contact with Children’s to provide appropriate and timely follow-up. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this new relationship.

New Services and Resources

Kerry McPhail is a parenting specialist who became part of our team through a grant from TriHealth, Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Beech Acres Parenting Center.  Her services are free for our families and she is here to help with sleep issues, school refusal, toilet training, anxiety, attention problems and lots of other parenting challenges.  You can reach Kerry by messaging her at or calling at 513-570-0941.

We are launching a support group and community for parents of newborns. This will be moderated by our Beech Acres Connext Parent Specialist Kerry McPhail and will occur on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The next one will be on Oct. 25th. It will help connect parents to community resources and provide at least one clear NEXT step to your parenting challenges.
